Welcome

Welcome to our 2016 Canadian experience.

Newton is on a teacher exchange program, Wendy is having a year off paid work to be the travel agent and blogger.

Newton swapped his teaching position and our home with a Canadian teacher for a year. We are living in Markham, Greater Toronto Area, Ontario.

Markham's population is approximately 342,000 and is the 16th largest city in Canada. Markham borders and shares the same climate as Toronto. On an average day, Markham is generally 1–2 °C (1.8–3.6 °F) cooler than in downtown Toronto. It has a humid continental climate and features warm, humid summers with significant rainfall occurring from May to October and cold, snowy winters.

Newton is teaching Year 7 students at St. Patrick Catholic Elementary School - Home of the Shamrocks! in Markham. There are approximately 350 students and the School is 1.5kms from home.

We hope you enjoy reading our blog as much as we have enjoyed traveling and sharing our experience with you.
